Christy Rivers

Christy Rivers teaches fourth-grade and dual-credit English courses in partnership with Concordia University, Nebraska. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Concordia University Chicago, a Master of Arts in English Literature and Rhetoric from Ohio State University, a Classical Teaching Certificate from the CCLE, and a Texas Teacher Certificate in English, grades 7-12. She has taught at Faith Lutheran School for seven years.

Mrs. Rivers believes that a classical Lutheran education captures both the hearts and the minds of students. Students learn wisdom, and they learn to love the Fount and Source of all wisdom. She asserts that “what we teach at Faith has eternal significance. We are equipping the next generation of saints for their vocations in this world and for life everlasting.  We are a family in Christ, not just for this school year but for all eternity.”

Throughout her career, Mrs. Rivers has taught every grade from kindergarten through college. An avid writer, she is currently working on a series of catechetical fairy tales based on the Ten Commandments that will begin to be released in the Spring of 2025.

Mrs. Rivers loves to go on crazy adventures with her husband and kids. They camp and hike all over the country.  She also has a great fondness for coffee and a large dinosaur collection.
